Slightly off-topic: what the heck is so great about teleporting, that it *has* to be added to each and every modern game? To me it feels like such a contrived and cataclysmic solution to a simple design problem. Travel is boring and takes too long? Obvious answer: make distances shorter and add interesting stuff en route. Preferred answer: remove travel from game. Why?!
I agree with making the bosses easier to find. I've also talked with a friend about the inability to teleport metal and, to me, it doesn't make sense. After all, the equipment you made from the metal is the same metal... My solution? Just make the drop rate lower. Make it more rare. You can stretch the time/difficulty out in other ways I'm more willing to accept.
But it will cause boss finding solution you just complained couple of lines before but for metal as well. Then you will have long borring sessions of looking for metal the same way as you do for bosses. Metal decision is good as is.
