The thing about needing a finite experience is absolutely me. Even if it's not a story (Although having even the vaguest story helps so much) it should have guiding goals and a spot where it says 'okay you're done with everything, playing past here is just for any personal goals you might have'. Similarly, if the story is interesting or characters compelling I can look past so many gameplay flaws. UI flaws are harder these days, so I'd definitely suggest an easy to use UI.
